Absolution: When the priest forgives your sins.
Act of Contrition: Otherwise known the Prayer of Sorrow, this is the prayer said at the end of confession
Contrition: Reflecting on your sins and feeling sorry.
Homily: Commonly known as the sermon, where the Bible readings are explained
Liturgy: Communal public prayer
Penance: The action that the priest gives to you that shows God you are sorry for your sins. This can be prayer or a deed.
Penitent: The person who shows they are sorry and confesses their sins.
Prayer of Absolution: The prayer said during Reconciliation which formally forgives your sins.
Ritual: A repetitive action which allows you to feel comfortable, as the routine is familiar. This allows you to think about the Sacrament more deeply.
Sign of the Cross: Done to begin and end a prayer. It is a visible act to praise and call on God, Jesus and the Holy Spirit.
